School of Community Mission

Using our CROWN rhythm as a foundation and framework, and our passion for worship, prayer, mission, community and hospitality as inspiration, we have developed a curriculum for an accelerated immersion into the emerging culture of St Michael’s.

We plan to launch the school in September 2017. The school programme will consist of teaching, mentoring, practical experience and specialist coaching in areas an individual is seeking to grow. The central part is a placement, with a team, into a missional context to apply the learning. Here we listen to God’s leading, and use the principles we are learning, to be good news to our communities and make his love known.

We then prayerfully reflect on what is happening, seeking to grow both the work but also ourselves! Our hope is that on completing a year in the school, its members will be confident to take the principles learnt and be able to form and lead effective mission wherever life may take them.

We ask that members of the school commit to at least two days in the week, but we will make sure all the material is available to the whole church via a YouTube channel, and in forms that individuals and groups can use at their own pace.
